A growing city of about 4,500, Chelsea is located just 15 minutes west of Ann Arbor. Home to the Purple Rose Theatre, an award-winning Equity stage, and to the Common Grill restaurant, Chelsea is a southeast Michigan destination.
 
Chelsea features a vibrant downtown, with a mix of shopping, dining, entertainment, and local activities. During the summer months, downtown is the focus during the annual SummerFest, and during the weekly Sounds & Sights events scheduled from June to September.

Chelsea Community Hospital, a not-for-profit hospital, is a fully accredited 113-bed acute care facility serving residents of Chelsea and surrounding communities. A member of Saint Joseph Mercy Health System, Chelsea Community Hospital is nationally recognized for both quality of care and patient satisfaction. As a not-for-profit hospital, Chelsea Community Hospital reinvests its profits back into the community through programs to serve the poor and uninsured, health education, and promotion initiatives.
